CAS ID: 37115-32-5
Metabolism: Hepatic
Metabolites: N-desmethyladinazolam N, N-didesmethyladinazolam estazolam alpha-hydroxy-alprazolam
Adinazolam (marketed under the brand name Deracyn) belongs to the triazolobenzodiazepine (TBZD) class, which combines benzodiazepines (BZDs) with a triazole ring. It possesses anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative, and antidepressant properties1. Although it was developed to enhance the antidepressant effects of alprazolam, Adinazolam was never FDA-approved for clinical use. However, it has been sold as a designer drug.
Adinazolam is a benzodiazepine derivative used to treat anxiety, status epilepticus, andfor sedation induction and anterograde amnesia. Adinazolam binds with high affi nity tothe GABA benzodiazepine receptor complex. Considerable evidence suggest that thecentral pharmacologic/therapeutic actions of alprazolam are mediated via interactionwith this receptor complex.
